Brie has a decade of experience in government and nonprofit organizations where she has worked on complex project and organization management, communications planning and policy analysis. As an Account Manager at Nyhus, Brie serves as strategic lead for client projects and provides public affairs and communications counsel.
Prior to joining Nyhus, Brie spent more than six years managing a global health economics research project at the University of Washington’s Department of Global Health. As director of project management, Brie led the external communications and dissemination strategy, which included generating content, establishing an online presence and liaising with a network of global health experts to advocate on key findings.
Prior to that, Brie spent four years in Washington, D.C. where she served as a staffer in the office of U.S. Congressman Brian Baird. She managed a portfolio of federal policy pertaining to education, trade, budget and judiciary issues, and provided media and communications support. She also completed a year of national service with the AmeriCorps program City Year, where she led a team of volunteers in teaching a public health awareness curriculum in local high schools.
Brie received her Master’s degree in Public Administration from the George Washington University with an emphasis in nonprofit management and leadership. She earned her bachelor’s degree in politics and government from University of Puget Sound where she was a member of the women’s basketball team.
In her free time, Brie serves as a volunteer board member with the Greenwood Community Council in Seattle. As an avid hiker, she can be found taking advantage of Washington’s accessible trails and lakes. She also enjoys baking desserts and cheering on the UW Huskies as a football season ticket holder.
