Continuing our “5 Questions” series, we sat down with John Christensen. After completing his internship at Nyhus, our newest Account Coordinator talked about what he is excited for in his new position.

What are you looking forward to most in your new job?

Working with and learning from all the talented individuals on our team. We have so many smart people here at our agency and they all have unique and interesting backgrounds. As a young professional, I am excited to take away as much as I can from them.

What will your new role at Nyhus include?

My role mainly involves supporting the public relations, public affairs, marketing and content development teams. I’m also responsible for media monitoring and a few other internal tools we use.

What is your favorite thing about working in the PR/PA industry?

The best part of our profession is that we get to immerse ourselves in so many intriguing fields and issues. The research process this requires is something I really enjoy, and the fact that I get to turn around and use what I’ve learned to create positive change makes the experience even more worthwhile.

What’s the best part about your new job so far?

Where to begin? We have a great office culture. People take the time out of their busy schedule to celebrate birthdays and welcome new employees. Everyone is a lot of fun to spend time with, not only in the office, but outside of work as well. People bring their dogs in on Friday. Also there’s an espresso machine, which I take full advantage of.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Right now it’s the time of year where nothing beats grabbing a fire pit at Golden Gardens.
