Continuing our “5 Questions” series, we’re introducing Kim Sanchez. Our new Director of Public Affairs shares career advice and reflects on her accomplishments to date.

What is your favorite thing about working in the PR/PA industry?

Thinking creatively to solve tough business issues and seeing the impact of that work in the community.

What is your proudest career moment?

In my last role at Microsoft I was fortunate to be able to travel to many different parts of the world to let parents, teachers and government officials know of the resources the company had to help families navigate the often challenging issues of keeping them and their families safer online. It was gratifying when they realized we had information that could assist them.

Any advice for aspiring PR/PA pros?

Network! Seek out a variety of groups or Meetups to expand your network and learn of cool new things going on in the community.

What’s the best part about your new job so far?

The people!

What do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my family which means watching my kid’s sporting events or doing something active like skiing, hiking or walking the dog. I also like to bake and binge on a good TV series!
